Although agriculture is often seen as a low-tech sector, it is increasingly driven by innovation, data science, and precision technologies. However, these advances remain limited in Sub-Saharan Africa, where many people depend on small-scale farming.
The CHAIN project aims to strengthen agricultural innovation and collaboration in the region by engaging universities, students, farmers, and industry partners. It develops a Master's program in food value chains, enhances teaching capacities, promotes entrepreneurship and innovation through digital learning tools, and establishes agricultural innovation hubs that support students, farmers, and entrepreneurs.
By modernizing curricula and fostering innovation, CHAIN improves graduates' employability while contributing to long-term food security and sustainable agricultural development in African communities.
