MaZero – Piloting renewable energy-based e-mobility in Maseru to decarbonise Lesotho’s transport sector

MaZero aims to decarbonize Lesotho’s transport sector—currently the country's second-largest source of greenhouse gas emissions—by promoting e-mobility powered by renewable energy, with a strong focus on improving women’s safety and mobility.
The project includes developing solar-powered charging infrastructure, building local capacity, empowering women as key stakeholders, and establishing a subnational e-mobility network. Data from pilot vehicles will inform a national roadmap for scaling e-mobility.
